The Harlan Police Department, Tuesday, issued a report on arrests that took place over the past week. On Sunday (7/7), 49-year old Karen Sue Schuemann, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop.  Schuemann was transported to the Shelby County Jail where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Last Saturday, 58-year old John Allen Veydt, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop.  Veydt was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended, and improper rear lamp.

On July 3rd: 32-year old Joey Lee Ranney, of Harlan, was arrested following a call for a disturbance in the 1500 block of 7th St.  Ranney was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; 29-year old Cody Emmett Lister, and 32-year old Bryan Joseph Schuemann, both Harlan, were arrested following the execution of a search warrant.  Lister was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, criminal mischief 4th, interference with official acts, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Schuemann was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance; and, 36-year old Brent Michael Swisher, Avoca, was arrested July 3rd following a short foot pursuit that began in the 700 block of Durant St.  Swisher was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with trespassing and interference with official acts.

On July 2nd, 61-year old Jolene J Rihner, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop.  Rihner was transported to the Shelby County Jail where she was charged with driving while revoked.
