A collision between a bicycle and a pickup Tuesday afternoon resulted in the bicyclist being transported to the hospital in Creston. According to Creston Police, 19-year old Brandon Lee Kinkennon, of Creston, was riding a bicycle westbound on W. Montgomery Street at around 1:07-p.m., when he failed to yield, and ran a stop sign at the intersection with N. Lincoln Street.

The bicycle struck the driver’s side door of a 2009 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 60-year old John Benjamin Rutz, of Creston, as Rutz was traveling southbound on Lincoln Street. Rutz had the right-of-way. When the bicycle impacted the pickup, Kinkennon was ejected and landed on his head.

He was transported by ambulance to the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. The pickup sustained $2,000 damage during the accident.
