The Atlantic girls golf team finished 3rd at the Southeast Polk Invite at Copper Creek Golf Course. The Trojans shot a 381 team total in some very tough conditions. WDM Valley won the tournament with a 322 and Marshalltown was 2nd with a 359.

Atlantic scores were Baylee Newell 83 (6th), Alyssa Ginther 86 (8th), Anna Wieser 101, Lauren Nicholas 111.

Atlantic Head Coach Kathy Hobson said it was very rough playing conditions with the cold temps and wind. Baylee Newell said “I started my day off rough with a snowman but stayed a little more consistent after that. I know we can all play better so we’re looking forward to our next outing.”

Alyssa Ginther said “It didn’t go as well as I would have liked but the conditions weren’t that great. Hopefully we’ll be playing in the sun next time.”
