JOHN WENDELL McCOWEN, 80, of Oakland, died Sunday, Jan. 6th, at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home. A memorial service for JOHN McCOWEN will be held 10:30-a.m. Thursday, January 10th,  at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening at the Oakland United Methodist Church from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM. 

A private interment will take place at the Oaklawn Cemetery. 

JOHN McCOWEN is survived by:

His wife – Barb McCowen, of Oakland.

His children – Beth (Mike) Schueman, of Avoca, and Jeff (Stacy) McCowen, of Leavenworth, KS.

His sisters – Betty Parman, of Marysville, MO, and Beverly Moe, of Des Moines.

His brother – Jim (Gloria) McCowen, of Coin. 

8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, other relatives and friends.
