An windshield that wasn’t properly cleared of frost was to blame for an accident this (Tuesday) morning, in Red Oak. Authorities say 63-year old Linda Jane Cochran, of Red Oak, was driving a 2000 Buick Century northbound on 8th Street at around 8:30-a.m., and approaching the intersection with East Hammond Street. The car veered to the left, authorities said, because Cochran couldn’t see clearly. The car struck a Mid-American Energy light pole, causing about $2,500 damage to the pole and $3,000 damage to the Buick, registered to Dewey Carpenter, of Red Oak.

Cochran complained of pain following the mishap, and was transported by Red Oak Rescue to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital to be checked-out. Cochran was cited for Driving with an Obstructed View or Control.
