The CAM Cougars will play host to the Griswold Tigers in the first round of the Girls Class 1A basketball playoffs tonight and we’ll have coverage on KJAN. The teams are playing in Class 1A Region 7 trying to earn a trip to the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, February 13th.

The Cougars come in to the contest with a record of 16-4 and are on a four game winning streak since dropping a home contest to Exira-EHK on January 23rd. CAM is led by Madison Gettler who is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds per game. Paige McAfee is averaging 12 points and the Cougars are averaging 57 points per contest.  The Cougars are hoping to have a more successful postseason run this year after dropping a two point game to Diagonal in the Quarters last year.

Griswold is 9-12 on the season and ended the season 2-2 in their last 4 games. The Tigers’ Brittney Beebe is averaging 11 points per game and Mateya Peters is averaging 10 points and 6 rebounds per outing. As a team the Tigers are putting up 35 points per contest.

The winner will move on to face either Stanton or South Page in Anita on Tuesday night, another game we’ll have on KJAN.

Tune in to KJAN for coverage of the game tonight starting at 6:50pm. The game is set to tip off at 7:00pm at CAM High School. Chris Parks will have the call on-air, online, and on the mobile app.
