The Council Bluffs Police report a woman died during a motorcycle accident on Saturday. At about 4:30pm emergency personnel were sent to the 2400 Block of N. 8th Street regarding a single vehicle motorcycle accident. When Officers arrived on the scene, they located 50-year-old Jacqueline Booton of Council Bluffs in the ditch. Medical personnel then arrived on scene and pronounced Booton deceased.

Booton was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle at the time of the accident. The investigation shows that Booton was northbound on North 8th street and for reasons unknown left the roadway and entered the ditch on the east side. She traveled some distance where she was eventually thrown from the motorcycle and into a concrete culvert. Booton was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The accident is being investigated by the Council Bluffs Police Department Traffic Unit. At this time it is unknown if speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
