Montgomery County authorities ask for help in burglary & arson investigations

Sheriff’s officials in Montgomery County are asking for your help in solving an incidents of burglary and arson. At around 6:30-a.m. Wednesday, Deputies responded to a reported burglary at a construction site in the 1700 block of 200th Street (on the west edge of Red Oak). Several tools were removed from the company’s construction trailers. The dollar amount of the loss had yet to be determined.

And, at around 2:10-p.m. Wednesday, Montgomery County Deputies responded to an incident of arson in the 400 block of Prairie Street, in Stanton. A 1979 Chevy pickup owned by Todd Silva, of New Market, was parked on the street in front of the residence, where a person or persons unknown intentionally set the vehicle on fire sometime between May 17th and May 24th. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000. The State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information about either of the incidents is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-434-2712, or the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 712-623-5107. You can remain anonymous. Crimestoppers may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrested and conviction.
