The Atlantic girls golf team added another victory feather to their cap on Thursday with a win at the Southeast Polk Tournament at Copper Creek. The Trojans shot a 322 to win it, which is the lowest 18-hole team score the Trojans have shot since Head Coach Kathy Hobson took over the program in 2007. Brooke Newell was Runner-Up individually with a 73. Marshalltown was second in the team standings with a 360.

Other Atlantic Scores: McKenna DenBeste 3rd with an 82. Alyssa Ginther was 5th with an 83. Baylee Newell was 6th with an 84. Sarah Fixmer shot a 93. Mary Hayes shot 102.

Head Coach Kathy Hobson:

“Outstanding day for us.  Great shooting from entire lineup.  Everyone was under their season average. With no advanced warning to me my husband and asst coach Marty told girls today was my birthday and told them the best present would be a victory.  Did they ever come though.  322 is lowest 18 hole team score we’ve shot since 2007 when we started coaching.”
