The holiday season is upon us and a lot of people are ordering their gifts on-line. This means lots of deliveries to residential areas around town. The deliveries are most often made while you’re at work and your kids are at school, nobody is home. The Harlan Police Department say that makes it extremely easy to have your deliveries stolen from right off your front steps.

Authorities said on the Harlan Police Dept.’s social media page, that they “Have had at least 3 confirmed reports of packages being stolen, all ready, this year and a few more weeks of deliveries yet to be made before Christmas.” Officials advise you to “Please try and set up delivery times when someone will be home or have your packages delivered to a neighbor or your place of business, if you’re able to do so.” They say “A few extra precautions will ensure that your loved ones will receive the gift that you have picked out for them.”
