Freeze Warning in effect through late this (Thursday) morning – 10/13/16

A FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THIS MORNING (10-am for the far west/southwest counties, 9-a.m for the remainder of the KJAN listening area).
* TEMPERATURE…26 TO 32. A FEW URBAN AREAS MAY REMAIN ABOVE 32. HOWEVER FROST IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE AREA.
* IMPACTS…IN ADDITION TO THE FREEZING TEMPERATURES…WIDESPREAD FROST WILL OCCUR. SENSITIVE VEGETATION WILL NOT SURVIVE IF LEFT UNPROTECTED. THE FREEZING TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING WILL END THE GROWING SEASON FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL IOWA.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
