September 30th, 2016 by Jim Field

The traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall is making a stop in Urbandale this weekend at Living History Farms.
Joy Wehmas, a member of the group “Team Welcome Home Iowa” that helped to coordinate the visit, said it was an awesome sight with so many motorcycles leading the display into the area Wednesday.  Iowans are encouraged to stop by through Sunday to see the half-scale replica wall and the educational display. There are programs held each day at 11:00 am and a military tribute concert at 3:00 pm on Saturday.  The closing ceremony will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon with the display closing at 3:00 pm.  It will be taken down and loaded onto trucks and taken to it’s next location.  Wehmas says it all goes by quickly but is an amazing experience.  To find out more about the exhibit and events at Living History Farm, go online to TeamWelcomeHomeIowa.com.
