Omaha, NE Police chase ends in Council Bluffs, Sunday evening

A police pursuit that began Sunday in Omaha ended in Council Bluffs with the driver of the suspect vehicle being taken into custody. Council Bluffs Police report Omaha Police attempted to stop a Nissan 370-Z that was driving recklessly. After Omaha Police helicopter ABLE 1 pursued the vehicle across I-80 into Council Bluffs at around 6:20-p.m., Sunday, officers from both Omaha and Council Bluffs converged on the vehicle behind Long John Silvers at 603 32nd Avenue, in Council Bluffs.
The driver fled on foot and was taken into custody without incident, at Hardee’s on South Expressway. An investigation revealed that the driver of the Nissan was 25-year old Jack Orozco, of Omaha. Orozco was charged with Theft 5th degree for having stolen license plates, Eluding a Police Officer, and Reckless Driving for his actions in Council Bluffs. His passenger was released without charges.
