A Council Bluffs teen was arrested on Wednesday after leading Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Deputies on a chase between Crescent and Council Bluffs.
At 1:40pm a Deputy attempted to stop a blue Nissan on Old Mormon Bridge Road after the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign after exiting Interstate 29. The vehicle did not stop and traveled into the City of Crescent and south on Old Lincoln Highway escaping from authorities. The Nissan was then located in a farm field and the Deputy approached the vehicle and ordered the driver out but he sped away once again. The driver then ended up going southbound on Old Lincoln Highway and back into Council Bluffs avoiding another Deputy. Finally at the intersection of Old Lincoln Highway and Coit Road the Nissan lost control and struck a parked vehicle near Spencer Avenue and North Broadway.
The driver was then apprehended and identified as 19-year-old Peter Hobart of Council Bluffs. He was taken to the Creighton University Medical Center by Council Bluffs Fire. Charges are pending.
