Two car collision in Red Oak Saturday

The Red Oak Police Department released details of a 2 vehicle property damage accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Red Oak. The accident occurred at 2:55pm Saturday at the intersection of Highway 48 and West Walnut Street. After investigation it was determined that a 2012 Subaru Forester driven by 60-year-old Teresa Risinger-Hebb of Stanton was traveling westbound on West Walnut Street and had stopped at the stop sign. A 2012 Honda Fit driven by Oleda Cooper of El Dorado, KS was southbound on Highway 48 approaching the Walnut Street intersection when Risinger-Hebb pulled out into the intersection and struck the Honda in the Drivers side doors. The Honda came to rest in the southbound lane and the drivers side airbags deployed. No injuries were reported in the accident. Risinger-Hebb stated she did not see the approaching vehicle and was cited for Failure to Yield from the stop sign. The Subaru sustained an estimated $2,000 damage and was driven away from the scene but the Honda had to be towed with an estimated $6,000 damage.
