Two people have died in a motorcycle accident near LeClaire, in eastern Iowa’s Scott County. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of the motorcycle, 29-year old Michael P. Dann, and his passenger, 25-year old Trista L. Nath, both of DeWitt, died in the crash that happened at around 7:20-p.m. Saturday.

Officials say the 2016 Harley Davidson cycle they were riding was traveling west on Territorial Road near 277^th Street, and rounding a curve, when the motorcycle went out of control and off the traveled portion of road. Dann and Nath were thrown from the cycle and died from their injuries at an area hospital. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The accident remains under investigation.
