Police in Council Bluffs today (Wednesday), released the identity of a woman who was struck by a pickup Tuesday night while crossing a street. Officials say 42-year old Sharon Richards, of Council Bluffs was taken to Creighton University Hospital in Omaha and later died Wednesday from her injuries from the accident that happened at around 10-p.m., Tuesday.

An investigation determined Richards crossed the roadway against the pedestrian crosswalk signal located at the intersection of 35^th and W. Broadways Streets, when she was struck by a 2013 Ford F-350. The driver of the pickup, 22-year old Steven Hart, of Omaha, will not face any criminal charges in connection with the accident.
