One person was injured when two vehicles collided this (Friday) morning, in Montgomery County. The Sheriff’s Office says a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser struck a 2002 Buick Century broadside at around 6:40-a.m., at the intersection of Boxelder Avenue and 200th Street. A passenger in the Chrysler suffered minor injuries and was transported by Red Oak Rescue to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Authorities say the driver of the Chrysler, Abel Saenz-Trevizo, of Omaha, was traveling south on Boxelder Avenue, when he failed to obey a stop sign at the intersection of 200th Street. The car struck the Buick, driven by Ashley Ann Darnold, of Emerson, as she was traveling east on 200th Street.
Following the collision, both vehicles came to rest in the southeast corner of the intersection. Saenz-Trevizo was arrested at the scene for Driving While License Revoked, and cited for Failure to obey a stop sign, as well as failure to have valid insurance. He was brought to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $1,000 bond.
Damage from the crash amounted to $13,000. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Red Oak Police, Red Oak Fire and Rescue, and the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency.
