WACO, Texas (AP) – Niya Johnson had 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as No. 4 Baylor overwhelmed Iowa State 78-41 on Saturday for its 14th consecutive victory.
Alexis Jones had 18 points for the Big 12-leading Lady Bears (27-1, 14-1 Big 12). Freshman post player Kalani Brown added 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting along with seven rebounds.
Iowa State (13-13, 5-10) shot only 23 percent from the field (14 of 65) and was outrebounded 64-25. The Lady Bears had five players with at least seven rebounds.
Seanna Johnson led the Cyclones with 12 points, and Meredith Burkhall had 10.
Johnson just missed becoming only the second player in Baylor history with a triple-double while playing 26 minutes. The only other Lady Bear to pull off that feat was former All-America post Brittney Griner (five times). Baylor leading scorer Nina Davis was 2-of-9 shooting for six points, 10 under her average.
