SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Jake Rudock started for Michigan at quarterback against Utah on Thursday night. New Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh chose not to reveal the winner of the competition between Rudock, a graduate transfer from Iowa, and Shane Morris, before the game.
Rudock completed his first pass, a short one in the flats to De’Veon Smith that gained 6 yards. He then completed a 4-yard pass to Jake Butt for a first down. Harbaugh has said that Morris, who was the backup for most of the past two seasons, also could play.
