THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA/VALLEY HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM CDT FRIDAY. A HEAT ADVISORY HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM CDT SATURDAY.
* TEMPERATURE…HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 100 TO NEAR 110 DEGREES FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACTS…ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH HIGH HUMIDITY WILL LEAD TO DANGEROUSLY HIGH HEAT INDEX VALUES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE.
