Officials with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation say the death of a rural Adams County man over the weekend has been ruled a homicide. Authorities say the body of 44-year old Allen Pafford, was discovered outside his mother’s home at 703 4th Street in Nodaway, late Saturday morning.

An autopsy performed on Pafford Monday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, indicated foul play as the cause of death. Officials say they believe this is an isolated incident, and the public does not appear to be in danger. Memorial services for Allen Pafford will be held at the Villisca Community Building beginning 2-p.m. Monday, June 29th.
