On Friday morning at approximately 7:30-a.m. the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 630^th Street & Oxford Road, south of Atlantic for a multiple vehicle accident. Upon arrival it was determined that there were two vehicles involved with five injured parties. All of the parties were transported to Cass County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Two of the injured were later air lifted to CHI Creighton University Medical Center with critical injuries. The three others transported to the hospital were treated and released. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Atlantic Police Department and the Department of Transportation Road Maintenance Staff. The injured were treated by area Fire and Rescue Departments from Cumberland, Massena, Lewis and Atlantic Medivac. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
