DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A high school wrestler from southwest Iowa has been hospitalized after collapsing during a state tournament. The Des Moines Register reports Creston/Orient-Macksburg wrestler Tayler Pettit doubled over during the state duals tournament Wednesday in Des Moines.
The Register reports cardio pulmonary resuscitation was performed and that Pettit was later wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher. Dr. Dennis Zachary, who was on the scene when Petit collapsed, says Petit was in stable but critical condition as of Wednesday evening.
