THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM
CST THIS EVENING.
* SHORT TERM TRENDS...LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL
IOWA THROUGH THE EVENING COMMUTE. THE SNOW SHOWERS COMBINED WITH
A STRONG NORTHWEST WIND AT 20 TO 35 MPH AND GUSTS TO 40 MPH OR
MORE WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES. AS COLDER AIR PUSHES IN...WIND
CHILLS WILL BEGIN TO DROP TO NEAR 20 BELOW ZERO.
* STORM TOTAL SNOW...LESS THAN AN INCH.
* WINDS/VISIBILITY...A GUSTY NORTHWEST AT 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 40 MPH COMBINED WITH FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE
VISIBILITIES TO BELOW HALF A MILE AT TIMES.
