DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS THROUGH LATE THIS MORNING...

ACCUMULATING SNOW HAS ENDED ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. STRONG WINDS…GUSTING INTO THE 30 TO 40 MPH RANGE AT TIMES EARLY THIS MORNING…WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND LOW VISIBILITY. THEREAFTER THE PRIMARY THREAT IS THE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES WHICH SHOULD PERSIST THROUGH LATE MORNING.

WIND CHILL ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CST THIS MORNING… …WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HAS EXPIRED

* WINDS…NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING. WINDS WILL STEADILY DIMINISH TO 10 TO 20 MPH BY MID-MORNING.

* WIND CHILL VALUES…AROUND 15 BELOW TO 25 BELOW ZERO.

* IMPACTS…SOME AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING. THEREFATER THE PRIMARY THREAT WILL BE THE DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILL VALUES. THESE SHOULD PERSIST THROUGH LATE MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
