Nighttime intermittent lane closures on southbound I-29 near Sioux City Tuesday and Thursday
January 27th, 2015 by Ric Hanson
The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City office reports placement of overhead sign structures will require nighttime intermittent lane closures on southbound Interstate 29 north of the I-29/U.S. 20/U.S. 75 interchange (exit 144) and south of the Floyd Boulevard interchange (exit 147) between 10 p.m. and midnight, beginning tonight (Tuesday, 1/27) and Thursday (Jan. 29th), weather permitting. Traffic will be stopped for 20-minute intervals.
Motorists approaching the area should drive with caution and be prepared to stop for traffic backups beyond the limits of the work zone. In addition, the contractor began closing the inside lane of I-29 on Monday (Jan. 26th), and lasting for approximately two weeks, to allow for completion of the sign construction.
