Three people with Iowa connections are getting Hall of Fame recognition in pro and college football. Cedar Rapids native Kurt Warner, who played college football at Northern Iowa, and then went on to a storybook pro career that took him from the Iowa Barnstormers, N-F-L Europe and the St. Louis Rams, is on the list for enshrinment in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Warner stepped in after an injury and took the Rams to a Super Bowl win and was named M-V-P. He appeared in two more Super Bowls with the Rams and Arizona Cardinals — losing both games in the final seconds.

The pro football class will be announced January 31st. The 2015 College Football Hall of Fame class just announced includes Trev Alberts, who played at Northern University High School in Cedar Falls before going on to Nebraska. Kansas State coach Bill Snyder is also in the class. Snyder came to the University of Iowa as an assistant to Hayden Fry in 1979. He stayed for 10 years and helped turn around the Hawkeye program before going to K-State.
