Iowa seniors contemplate future
January 5th, 2015 by Ric Hanson
The seniors on the Iowa football team are now considering what they’ll do next with their careers after the bowl game loss to Tennessee on January 2nd. Tackle, Brandon Scherff, won the Outland trophy as the nation’s best college lineman and was a consensus All-American, who will be moving to the next level. But Scherff wasn’t thinking about the N-F-L right after his final game.
“I’m gonna actually go deep sea fishing tomorrow, so I’m going to relax than I will worry about that after that,” Scherff says. He was asked if he has line up an agent to prepare for the N-F-L draft. “There’s a couple in mind yeah, but I am going to worry about catching fish tomorrow, and then I am going to start training on Thursday,” Scherff says. Runnnig back Mark Weisman went form walk-on to starter and is not the sure N-F-L prospect that Scherff is, but wants to give it a shot.
“I’m just going to see where my life goes, gonna try to play in the N-F-L, see if that works out, if not, then I’ll do something else.,” Weisman says. “I’m going to go 100 percent towards that and see where it takes me.” Weisman and ended up finishing second in the number of career touchdowns, one short of the record.
