WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM SATURDAY TO MIDNIGHT CST SATURDAY NIGHT.
* TIMING OR SHORT TERM TRENDS…SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO WESTERN IOWA ON SATURDAY MORNING…AND OVER THE REST OF CENTRAL IOWA ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL PERSIST INTO SATURDAY EVENING BEFORE ENDING OVERNIGHT.
* STORM TOTAL SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS…2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE COMMON…WITH SOME LOCAL AMOUNTS TO 5 INCHES. THE GREATEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA…MAINLY NORTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 20 WITH LIGHTEST AMOUNTS IN FAR SOUTHERN IOWA.
* WINDS/VISIBILITY…VISIBILITY WILL BE REDUCED TO AROUND A MILE OR LESS AT TIMES. WINDS WILL BE SOUTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH.
* IMPACTS…ROADWAYS WILL BECOME SLICK IN PLACES.
