No. 18 Iowa women hold off Dayton, 90-83

IOWA CITY, Iowa. (AP) — Samantha Logic posted her fifth-career triple-double, and Bethany Doolittle scored 23 points and blocked five shots, to lead No. 18 Iowa women past Dayton 90-83 in the championship game of the Hawkeye Challenge on Saturday night. Logic scored 12 points to go along with 11 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals for Iowa (4-0). Ally Disterhoft added 18 points; Whitney Jennings scored 15, including three 3-pointers, and Melissa Dixon chipped in with 10.
Dayton (1-3) led took a 68-58 lead with 9:47 to play when Amber Deane got out on the break for a layup. Disterhoft scored the first four points during an 11-2 run and, fewer than 3 minutes later, Iowa trailed by just one.
After exchanging several buckets, Doolittle hit a pair of free throws with 3:24 left, giving the Hawkeyes their first lead since early in the half and sparking a 12-4 run to finish the game.
