DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Pay very close attention to weather watches and warnings this afternoon! Forecasters warn that strong storms and possibly tornadoes are possible in Iowa and eastern Nebraska this (Sunday) evening. The National Weather Service says there is a moderate risk of severe weather in Iowa and eastern Nebraska. There is a 60% chance of a Watch (Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm) being issued by 4-p.m. Central Time for the two states.
Forecasters say the main threat tonight will be strong winds, but large hail and even tornadoes are possible. Plus, some areas may receive heavy rain, so flash flooding may be a concern.
