BOIL ADVISORY LIFTED IN SOLDIER, MONONA COUNTY
June 13th, 2014 by Ric Hanson
Officials with the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resource reports the residents of Soldier in western Iowa’s Monona County can drink their tap water again, as the boil advisory that was issued earlier in the week was lifted Friday afternoon. The DNR and the city lifted the boil advisory after two sets of water samples tested clean of bacteria. The boil advisory was issued Wednesday after a hole in a well pipe drained the water tower. Loss of water pressure has the potential to allow bacteria to enter the water system.
