OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) — More than a year after a summer storm sent it tumbling down, the 11-foot-tall Chief Wapello statue is back atop the county courthouse in Ottumwa. The Ottumwa Courier reports that after an extensive renovation, workers yesterday strapped the statue to a steel cable and used a crane to raise it about 85 feet.
