Iowa women down Minnesota

The Iowa Hawkeye women picked up their first Big Ten victory with a 78-71 win over Minnesota in Iowa City, Wednesday night. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said “It’s a little late coming, but we’re really glad to get this win. Obviously the ‘Border War’ with Minnesota is big. Minnesota is a very good team,” but Bluder said after an 0-2 start, the win was important for the Lady Hawks, as they prepare to take on the Wisconsin on the road, this weekend.
Iowa trailed 35-32 at the half but the Hawks did a better job against Minnesota’s perimeter shooters in the second half. Iowa is now 12-4 overall.
