WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TODAY (TUESDAY)
*WINDS…NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 30 MPH ARE ANTICIPATED TO CONTINUE WITH MAINLY THE STRONG GUSTS SUBSIDING BY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
* TEMPERATURES/WIND CHILL VALUES…THE COMBINATION OF LOW TEMPERATURES FROM ZERO TO 5 BELOW AND NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 30 MPH WILL CAUSE WIND CHILL VALUES TO 20 TO 25 BELOW ZERO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. A FEW SPOTS MAY SEE WIND CHILL READINGS AS COLD AS 30 BELOW AT TIMES BEFORE SUNRISE TUESDAY.
* IMPACTS…BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS CAN LEAD TO FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
