A traffic stop Wednesday morning in Clarinda resulted in a man being arrested on weapon and drug charges. Clarinda Police Chief Keith Brothers says 25-year old Jacob Tanner Franson, of Villisca, was arrested a little after 3-a.m., after officers stopped his vehicle at the intersection of West State Street and the State Highway 2 bypass.
Franson will be charged with carrying a concealed firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
He was being held in the Page County Jail on bond amounting to 100-thousand dollars. Chief Brothers says deputies with the Page County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest of Franson. His case has been referred to the Page County Attorney’s Office for review and the filing of formal charges.
