Drake signs 5 players
November 13th, 2013 by Ric Hanson
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Drake coach Ray Giacoletti announced his first recruiting class Wednesday, a five-player group that includes a pair of Iowans. Iowa Falls Alden High forward Casey Schlatter and center Kory Kuenstling of Dunkerton headline the class of players who have signed with the Bulldogs.
Schlatter averaged 25.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a junior last season and was a first-team All-State pick. The 6-foot-11 Kuenstling scored nearly 16 points a game last year. Point guard Reed Timmer of New Berlin, Wis., and a pair of Illinois players, C.J. Rivers and Ore Arogundade, round out the 2013 class for Drake.
Giacoletti says each of his new players comes from a successful high school or AAU program and excels in the classroom.
