NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — The title sponsor of the IndyCar series race in Iowa says next season’s event will be moved to July and extended by 50 laps. Iowa Corn says the IndyCar race will be held at night on July 12 — a day after a NASCAR Trucks series event at the 0.875-mile oval.
The open-wheel race, traditionally held in late June, will also be 300 laps for the first time since IndyCar started hosting races at Iowa Speedway in 2007. The track is expected to release details of its full 2014 schedule in the near future.
