DOUG BACKHAUS, 68, of Manilla, died unexpectedly Sat., Oct. 26th, at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan. Funeral services for DOUG BACKHAUS will be held 1-p.m. Fri., Nov. 1st, at the Sacred Heart Church in Manilla.  Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla has the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church from 4- until 8-pm Thursday (Oct. 31st), and again on Friday from Noon until the time of service at 1-p.m.

Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Manilla.

His wife – Marilyn Backhaus, of Manilla.

His children – Todd Backhaus and Sara Backhaus, both of Manilla; David Backhaus, of Spirit Lake; Scott Backhaus, of Georgia, and Jamie Backhaus, of North Liberty.

His sisters – Karen Finken, of CO; Barb Marks, of Mesa, AZ, & Carolyn Humrich, of Baldwin, MO.

and 9 grandchildren.
