THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SHELBY COUNTY UNTIL 315 AM CDT TUESDAY
AT 322 PM CDT…THE WEST NISHNABOTNA RIVER IN SHELBY COUNTY WAS RUNNING HIGH AND MINOR FLOODING MAY BE OCCURRING. HEAVY RAIN OCCURRED IN THE AREA AND UPSTREAM IN THE PAST 24 HOURS. MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT.
SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING INCLUDE… LOCATIONS ALONG THE RIVER FROM NORTH OF IRWIN TO SOUTH OF HARLAN.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
