342 PM CDT MON MAY 27 2013 …FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING..
THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD MOVE BACK INTO CENTRAL IOWA TONIGHT AND CONTINUE TUESDAY MORNING. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WITH A GENERAL 1 TO 2 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE IT APPEARS THE HEAVIEST RAIN SHOULD BE OVER SOUTHERN IOWA TONIGHT.
THE HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL ON GROUND THAT IS SATURATED FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAIN. HEAVY RAIN ON SATURATED GROUND WOULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING WHICH WOULD BE LIFE THREATENING.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
