Lolo’s season: Pizza, chocolate and peace of mind
February 28th, 2013 by Ric Hanson
Lolo Jones says she’s committed to a second season with the U.S. bobsled team, one that will give her a chance to compete in the Sochi Olympics. Jones tells The Associated Press that she got “completely engulfed” with the sport this season, her first in sliding. The two-time Olympic hurdler is back in training for her track and field season now in Baton Rouge, La.
She left her first season as part of the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation with three medals. One was a silver medal as the brakeman for driver Jazmine Fenlator in the World Cup season-opener at Lake Placid, N.Y. The others came in team events, a gold at the world championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland and a bronze at a World Cup stop in Igls, Austria.
