…FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON…
FREEZING RAIN OVER SOUTHWEST IOWA WILL CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD ALL OF CENTRAL IOWA BY 9 AM. THE FREEZING RAIN WILL TRANSITION TO ALL RAIN BY MIDDAY FOR AREAS SOUTHWEST OF A LINE FROM TAMA TO FORT DODGE.
ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND ONE TENTH OF AN INCH ARE LIKELY…WITH SPOTTY AMOUNTS UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH POSSIBLE.
ROADS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY QUICKLY WITH GROUND TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW FREEZING. AIR TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY WARM ABOVE FREEZING BY MID TO LATE SUNDAY MORNING…BUT THE COLD GROUND TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY TAKE SEVERAL HOURS LONGER TO WARM…PROLONGING THE THREAT OF SLICK ROADS.
