Dense Fog Advisory Until 9-a.m. Sunday (12/2/12)
December 2nd, 2012 by Ric Hanson
The National Weather Service has issued a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for most of Iowa, and the entire KJAN listening area. The Advisory is in effect until 9-a.m.
VISIBILITY: VISIBILITIES OF A QUARTER MILE OR LESS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH MID MORNING. LOW LYING AREAS NEAR CREEKS AND RIVERS ARE LIKELY TO HAVE THE MOST DENSE FOG.
IMPACTS: HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED DUE TO THE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES. EXTRA TIME SHOULD BE GIVEN FOR EARLY SUNDAY MORNING TRAVEL.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING…SLOW DOWN… USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS…AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHER VEHICLES.
