Two people are dead following the crash of a small plane Saturday night in northwest Iowa’s Woodbury County. According to the Sioux City Journal, the crash happened in a location south of Correctionville, on or near Highway 31, at around 8-p.m. Those who died were said to have been passengers on the plane. The pilot was injured and driven to a Sioux City Hospital after heavy fog in the area forced a medical evacuation helicopter to be grounded.

The National Weather Service began issuing dense fog advisories in northwest Iowa as early as 7:40 p.m. Saturday, but it’s not clear if weather played a role in the crash. No other details are currently available.
