VELMA HELEN BATES, 90, of rural Griswold, died Fri., Feb. 25th. Funeral services for VELMA BATES will be held 10:30-a.m. Wed., Feb. 29th, at the Griswold United Methodist Church. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold has the arrangements.

An open visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 28th, with the family present to receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Interment will be at Whipple Cemetery.

Connie Bryant, of Casper, WY; Diane Bates, of Council Bluffs; Nancy Wolverton, of Menlo; Elton Bates, of Oakland; Linda Harry, of Knoxville; Randall Bates, of Griswold; Larry Bates, of Craig, NE; Rodney Bates, of Griswold, and Rebecca Cajayon, of Knoxville.

Her sister – Shirley, of Lenoir, NC.

Her brother – Lester, of Griswold.

22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
