SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says he prayed for a rival candidate during a recent debate. The former Pennsylvania senator says it happened several weeks after Texas Gov. Rick Perry pledged to eliminate three Cabinet departments but could only think of two. In the subsequent debate, Perry said President Barack Obama had three options when an American drone crashed in Iran. Santorum says he quickly bowed his head and prayed that Perry wouldn’t “do it again.” The Texas governor didn’t stumble, and Santorum says Perry then leaned over to him and said, “I was taking a risk with that third one.”  The two Ricks are among the candidates competing for evangelical support in Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses.
