Creighton rolls past Drake 76-59

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Doug McDermott had 24 points and Creighton never trailed in rolling to a 76-59 victory over Drake Tuesday night. The Bluejays (12-2, 2-1 Missouri Valley), who fell out of the Top 25 on Monday, scored the game’s first 11 points and held a double-digit lead from the 12:49 mark in the first half. McDermott was 9 for 12 from the field and made all six of his free throws. He also had seven rebounds, matching the game’s highest total. Antoine Young had 18 points and six assists, and Gregory Echenique contributed 10 points and four blocked shots for Creighton, which shot 60 percent from the floor in the game. Ben Simons had 17 points and was the only player in double figures for Drake (8-6, 1-2). The Bulldogs shot 37 percent from the field.
